Twin Atlantic - Yes I Was Drunk [Review]

Twin Atlantic have been making waves in the industry for a while now and seem to finally be getting recognition for what they do nationally. The band hailing from Scotland return with the single Yes I Was Drunk released on Red Bull Records on 27th August.

The single is mellow but anthemic with its lyrics, combining sedate soft vocals with angst laden emotion. What’s really good about Sam McTrusty (Vocals) is that he celebrates his Scottish roots and doesn’t try to hide his accent. The song pans out into one that would nicely relax an 80,000 crowd before exploding into the popular classic TA songs.

What’s great about Twin Atlantic is that they don’t try to be anything quirky or niche, they just produce cracking music and keep it simple and this works brilliantly on this track. The Album Free is all ready getting big press and this single will just add to it again. The single will come with two remixes, one of the title track Free and one of Yes I Was Drunk.

On top of their impending performances at Leeds/Reading the band are on tour in the Autumn so make sure you get tickets for this very soon.

All in all this single is a definite keeper and one to grab with both hands

GALLOWS ANNOUNCE NEW SINGLE ‘OUTSIDER ART’ TO BE RELEASED OCTOBER 1ST

The bands self titled album is set to be released on September 10th on their own VENN Records Label in partnership with PIAS and will include a DVD documentary. Their third and self-titled album proves that their reputation as the UK’s most notorious and exciting punk band will not be changing any time soon.  Recorded, produced, mixed and mastered by long-term friends Thomas Mitchener and Steve Sears at Broadfields Studio in Watford in May this year, it is, say the band “our statement of intent, our laugh in the face of those who said Gallows were done when in reality we’re just warming up,” they continue. “We couldn’t feel more vindicated and proud.”

One of the album’s many stand-out tracks ‘Outsider Art’ will be released as a single on October 1st. “I’ve spent the last 10 years of my life getting lost on the road,” explains frontman Wade. “There’s some dark stories to tell. ‘Outsider Art’ is just one of them.”

A classic Gallows track through and through, it retains all of the bands power and aggression but at the same time leaves their ability to pen a distinctive melody intact.

You can view the video here:

A special edition version of the album will also include a DVD documentary that provides a fascinating and often hilarious insight into the world of Gallows over the last few months.

Gallows can now also announce that they will play a special record release launch at The Fighting Cocks  in Kingston on September 9th and have added a second night to The Underworld in Camden, now playing on both the 19th and 20th of October. Suffice to say, all of these shows will be hot, sweaty and utterly insane.

Deuce releases video for “Let’s Get It Crackin’”

California based lyricist, producer, singer/rapper Deuce has released a risqué video for the track “Let’s Get It Crackin’”.  The video tells blush-inducing tales of intimate escapades, representing Duece at his rawest and features rapper Jeffree Star. The video was initially launched on www.isanyoneup.com  and charted on iTunes less than 24 hours after its release. Check it out here on his Vimeo channel where it has already been viewed over 270,000 times: http://vimeo.com/32788886 .
You can also view Episode 1 of the story behind the album here: http://youtu.be/lXgZStkkiXc

Experiencing unprecedented success as the front man for Hollywood Undead, Deuce’s solo effort is similar in flavour, but takes it up to 11.

The video was filmed in Los Angeles, and directed by Nathan Cox (Marilyn Manson, Linkin Park, Black Veil Brides).

Deuce is a songwriter, producer, singer/rapper hailing from Los Angeles, CA. As the co-founder, former lead singer and main songwriter/producer for Hollywood Undead, Deuce emerged as the creative force that led the band to staggering albums sales of their debut, Swan Songs, which also reached #1 on the Alternative, Hard Rock and Rock album charts. Deuce is known for his signature masks and ability to jumpstart any party with his raunchy lyrics. Since his departure from Hollywood Undead in 2010, Deuce has performed in front of thousands at 2011’s Epicenter and has been gearing up for the release of debut album Nine Lives.

Pathetic Island Fallacy - PseudoNympho

Yorkshire based rockers PseudoNympho are back with their new single, released on Bunnysnot Records, ‘Pathetic Island Fallacy’

Like a lot of bands at the moment they are marketing their live set and the video to this song does just that with them playing live throughout the video. The song is a classic PN type track which gives you that Axl-esque, balls out, early GnR feel that you expect from PseudoNympho but with an added bonus of prominent vocals from Rio Goldhammer.

With a few carefully borrowed ideas from the gold old UK pomp and circumstance and fast gritty guitar work this song shows the band in a great light! The solos are spot on, the drumming is precise and intricate and the joint vocals hit home about the state of the UK at the moment in my eyes.  There is only one down side, some of the vocals down match up on the video but this is minor and only seen by those with over keen eyes like my own…….

These guys are well worth a look so here’s the video
